5–11 OCTOBER

Football Homework · 5–11 October

Watch the move. Try it with your ball. Bring it back to your next session.

This week: the Iniesta forward move and the Cruyff turn.

FORWARD MOVE

Iniesta · La Croqueta

Watch on YouTube

Match-footage compilation from the linked YouTube uploader.

Look for these details

  • Move the ball across your body with the inside of one foot.
  • Use the inside of your other foot to take it forward into space.
  • Keep the ball close, then accelerate after the second touch.

Your challenge

Place a cone or marker in front of you. Move across it, then push forward past it. Try five controlled attempts in each direction. Start slowly; add speed when you can keep the ball close.

TURN

Cruyff Turn

Watch on YouTube

90-second extract: The Cruyff turn and behind the standing leg · match-footage compilation.

Look for these details

  • Shape your body as though you are going to pass or shoot.
  • Use the inside of your foot to guide the ball behind your standing leg.
  • Turn with the ball and accelerate into the space you have created.

Your challenge

Dribble towards a marker, perform the turn and travel back into space. Try five with each foot. Start standing still if you need to, then build up to a moving turn.

All you need is a ball, a marker and a clear space. Focus on control before speed.
